Asthma is on the increase!  The most common reason: Large percentages of families are living sedentary lifestyles. 

We can help to reduce the number of people born with Asthma by being a little more active and eating the right kinds of foods...basically looking after our bodies will fight the causes of Asthma when we give birth to our children and our children's children.

Asthma is an inflammation of our airways.  An Asthma attack can be triggered by a number of things such as stressful situations, excitement, pollen in the air, smoky rooms etc...this causes the muscles around the airways to tighten taking less air into the lungs and making it hard for that person to breath.

If you have Asthma:

  • A good nutrition intake is key - gaining weight puts NEEDLESS EXTRA pressure on our heart and lungs.
  • The correct exercise plan is essential - DO NOT jump straight in and exercise like everyone else.  Everyone is different, therefore your limits have to be looked at and starting with basic techniques will eventually see you to the top of your game safely and effectively.
  • Yoga/Pilates/Relaxation - Teaching your body and mind to relax and not to panic under pressured situations and in a daily routine will benefit you in the event of an attack.  The art of relaxation is underestimated and in today's world is needed more than ever.
